Got a new system? Want to help scientist model simulations that could help them understand proteins better and find the cure for various diseases? Join PC Club folding at Home Team (#36057) and donate your free computer time to help.

Basically by running a small piece of software you can transfer your computer's idle time into processing time for the researchers at Stanford Univerisity to simulate folding of proteins. When a protein "misfold" it can cause serious consequences which we know as diseases such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), Parkinson's and many forms of cancer.

The researchers at Stanford split their workloads into thousands of work units for team members to process in which their software can combine together to form protein simulations. These simulations which would have required super computers years to process could be done within a few months.

PC Club Folding@Home Team started in March 25th 2004 by efforts initiated by forum members Hrsetrdr & Fergie. It has been folding strong ever since and rank within the top 100 team world wide.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up now. Who knows? The work unit you are processing might help someone find a cure to cancer.
